Description
Vintage Hotel InterContinental Pago Pago Luggage Label American Samoa. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS First Class.Pago Pago InterContinental Hotel was built in the 1960s in effort to modernize Americans Samoa. Before it was taken over by the government of American Samoa and renamed The rainmaker hotel, Pago Pago lead an interesting life.
In 1980, a US Navy plane crashed into the hotel killing all six on board as well as two tourists. The hotel also hosted the Miss island Queen pageant competition for nearly 15 years, ending in 2001. Sadly by the 90s the hotel began to show more serious wear and it was finally demolished in 2015 after sitting abandoned for more than a decade.
What was once an island paradise is no more, but there are mementos that survive.
I'm very pleased to share with you my three original (2.25"x6.25") vintage, self-adhesive Pago Pago intercontinental hotel luggage labels. All three are in stellar condition with no noticeable signs of wear or yellowing. There are no folds or creases.
Perhaps someone will remake old luggage labels again but for now, for originals you need to get them while you can.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look! ✌️
