This lovely vintage Bakelite brooch can be worn as either a brooch or a pendant as the piece has hardware for both. (See photo #4 )
The bracelet was carved from emerald green colored Bakelite.
The design of the brooch is very interesting. If the piece is worn as a pendant with the pointed end pointing down, the pendant resembles an arrowhead. If the bracelet is worn as a brooch with the pointed end up, it resembles an Art Deco rocketship:)
There is a gold painted triangular medallion at the base of the brooch and crosshatch and slash carvings further decorate this really rare Bakelite brooch! An excellent addition to any Bakelite enthusiast's collection
The brooch has both a safety pin  "c" style clasp that is in good working order and a small eye for wearing the piece as a pendant. (See photo #4) that is in perfect working order and stays closed when worn.
It measures 3 1/2" x 1 3/4" at its widest point. The brooch is 1/4" thick and weighs 19 grams.
The brooch tests positive for Bakelite using Simichrome polish. (See photo #10) No chips or cracks were seen.
