O'Brien Tyrrell Hashioki, Chopstick Rest, Knife Rest, Handmade, Ceramic. Condition is New.
O’Brien Tyrrell Hashioki or Chopstick Rests are made usingtraditional handbuilding methods.  Porcelain slabs are hand rolled andtextures applied with studio made stamps pressed into the clay. Nocommercial molds are used, and each piece is made one at a time, variations andmarks indicative of the process should be expected. Celadon glazes areused on most of the pieces.  Every Hashioki has O’Brien’s “maker’s mark”or “chop” on the bottom of each piece.  O’Brien is a studio potter withover 40 years of experience, and was an art teacher for 31 years. This piece isa part of the “Big Block” series and is 2 5/8 long x7/8 wide 1/2 tall and isBlue Celadon color.  This Hashioki is fired in a kiln to 2250°.  Usethese decorative rests to keep Hashi (Chopstick) or Knives off the tabletop.  The photos show the exact same Hashioki being sold.  Color maylook different depending on your monitor.  Sales tax may be chargeddepending on where you live.
