Description
Wakasa lacquerware is made in and around Obama City, Fukui Prefecture. This technique was born in the early Edo period.
It is characterized by the use of patterns made with eggshells, seashells, or pine needles, on which lacquer is applied and polished.
As a result, it has a unique character and dignity among lacquerware, and is highly valued as a work of art.
