Chopsticks Paulownia Wood Box Both Men and Women Single-use 2pc set in Japan New
    Description
Kiri-bako(paulownia wood box) is a box made of paulownia wood. It is mainly used forstoring hanging scrolls, antiques, wind chimes, prayer beads, etc. It isusually divided into a box and a lid.
Itis usually divided into a box and a lid, and the lid is fixed to some extent bythe friction between the box and the lid when it is put on, and is oftencovered with a string or wrapped with a furoshiki. Most paulownia boxes forhanging scrolls have a bearing inside, and antiques are sometimes wrapped infukusa (wrapping cloth) or yellow bags before being placed in the paulowniabox. In the case of antiques, they are sometimes wrapped in fukusa or yellowbags before being placed in the box.
Inthe world of tea ceremony utensils, the value of the box is sometimes enhancedby writing on it. Because paulownia does not smear ink, it is often used forcalligraphy by Iemoto (the head of a school) and for writing on boxes forartists.
Kyotois the main production center for the famous high-grade boxes.
Itis also used in ceramics, lacquer ware, and other gift items.
Recently, paulownia has also been used for packaging high-grade muskmelons.
