This is an APS film format negative holder for use with select Canon and Epson
flatbed film scanners (US Patent Pending).
This holder will work with the following film scanners:
Canon CanoScan 8400/8600/8800/8900/9000/9950 and Mark I
    I
Epson Perfection 4990 (requires film area guide)
    Epson Perfection V550/V600
    HP ScanJet G4050
(HP use requires additional purchase of: https://www.ebay.com/itm/274039510759)
Completely redesigned model that features a slide in "top" that assists in keeping film flat for scanning.  This was CAD designed and manufactured for use with the obsolete Advanced Photo System (APS) format that was briefly popular nearly 20 years ago.  It was marketed by Kodak under the name "Advantix" in 1996.  Both Kodak and Fuji stopped manufacturing APS film in 2011.  The APS negative holder is available for other brands of flatbed film scanners at the same price.  Please inquire about customization options.
Unfortunately not only is it almost impossible to get prints made from APS film these days, but APS negative holders are hard to come by and the ones that you can find cost upwards of 0.  Additionally, while many film scanners allow for negatives to be scanned directly on the glass, APS presents a special issue because it's stored wound tightly inside the film canister.  Once you get it out of the canister, the negatives roll in to a ball unmercifully without something to hold them flat.  Removing exposed negatives from an APS canister is actually quite easy.  You literally break it out any way you can.  Since APS canisters are plastic, I use a pair of pliers to
    gently
crack open the canister to gain access to the negatives.  If you don't want to destroy your APS canister, there are commercially available products known as "film retrieval tools" that will work for APS.  I am also told that it is possible to use a small flat screwdriver to open the canister film door and then use the screwdriver to turn the canister center spindle to make the film eject for scanning.
Important: Our film adapters for flatbed scanners are not designed to be used with uncut filmstrips.  You may need to cut your film to adapter length for proper use.
Specifications for the APS negative holder:
    Overall: 199 mm x 55 mm
    Assembled thickness:  5 mm
    Material:  Solid Plastic
Features:  Unlike some designs, this holder features a recessed channel to hold your negative strip firmly which can help avoid scratches or trapped dust that other holders may cause.
Important:  This negative holder is designed to sit inside the stock 120 film holder (directly on the glass) that shipped with your Canon or Epson scanner.  Utilizing your 120 OEM holder may not be strictly necessary with some scanners, but utilizing your stock holder aids in proper positioning and can help avoid calibration and focus issues

SPECIAL NOTE FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS BUYING MULTIPLE ITEMS
:  Ebay has recently changed rules for international buyers.  Depending on where you live, you may not be able to combine shipping or ask me to send an invoice before paying.  The system may require to pay immediately as well as to pay for separate shipping on each item.  If this happens to you, I have a policy of always reimbursing excess shipping charges on multiple items to international buyers.  Once I have all your items packaged up together and weighed, I will refund any excess shipping costs to you.
    Satisfaction is guaranteed!
    Important additional notes:
    - If you are buying my holders for resale, please be aware that my products are more about "function" over "form."  This is why they are so inexpensive compared to other commercially produced options.  Each holder is custom made and may contain spot sanding and other finishing marks.  I do my best to clean my products up cosmetically, but due to sales volume I simply can't spend a lot of time on it.  My main concern is that it works like it is supposed to.  As a result, if you are reselling please be aware that you may need to do some more finishing work suitable for a retail environment.
    - Aftermarket holders for odd film sizes will usually require the ability to manually scan film strips with "thumbnail" modes turned off.  Depending on your model and software, masking of individual frames for scanning may be necessary for the best results.  Please ensure you know how to set your scanner/software for full manual control.  Simply pushing a green button on the front of your scanner (common with Epson models) to scan a film strip will not work with most aftermarket film holders.
    - Please pay particular attention to the "handling" days before shipping as noted above.  I do not typically maintain an inventory of my film holders as most are custom made upon order placement.  As such, I ask for 5 business days handling before shipping.  My average is likely around 2 days, but there are occasions where orders are very high and I may need all 5 business days before I am able to ship your holder.  Please keep this in mind.
