    Description

    This is a antique Japanese Meiji Era (c. 1910) set of bronz
    hibashi
    (fire chopsticks). They were used to move burning hot coals from one place to another and also to tend the coals while they burned in a
    hibachi
    .
    They have a textured gripon the body and a drum shaped cylinder design on the
    handle
    end.
    With the exception of not being perfectly strait at the ends, some minor oxidation and having been well-loved, these
    hibashi
    chopsticks remain in
    good
    (
    functional) condition.
    They measure 10 1/2" long (26.5 cm).
