    Description

    4 FINE CHOPSTICKS AND 12 CERAMIC HOLDERS ON 1960’S JAPANESE AKITA CEDAR WOOD TRAY
    This handsome, lithe square tray is ideal for serving a sushi or sashimi meal. It is made of precious cedar wood with a straight, tight grain. It is solid yet light, and it has rich red and yellow hues. It was never used and it measures 13 5/8 inches by 13 5/8 inches. It has been decorated with a red sea bream, a power symbol in Japan because it always swims upstream.
    The 2X2 Chinese chopsticks, when you align them correctly, reveal a proud peacock for one pair, and an aquatic floral scene for another.
    The handmade chopstick holders are glazed ceramic. There are six of the smooth eggplant type and six of the sea bream fish reflecting the red tray icon.
    All items are in undamaged, good vintage condition.
